CarbonFarm uses AI and satellite data to monitor and certify low-emission rice projects for farmers, agribusinesses, project developers and corporate buyers.
Rice produces roughly 12% of human-caused methane, while CarbonFarm says practices such as alternate wetting and drying can cut emissions by up to 50% and water use by up to 30% without reducing yields. Its €7 million Series A, led by Colam Impact, is intended to expand its AI-and-satellite MRV and project-development platform across Asia, Africa and Europe and into Latin America; the company says it already operates in 19 countries.
