Kapta is addressing the problem that conventional spaceborne radar payloads are too costly and complex to deploy across the large constellations needed for persistent tracking of moving threats, while its MESA architecture is designed to reduce cost, power requirements, and manufacturing complexity. Its $24 million Series A brings total funding to $30 million and is intended to scale production, qualify the payload for flight, prepare an orbital demonstration, and support multiple classified moving-target-indication contracts.
