Medikea targets Tanzania's access and affordability gap, where public hospitals can impose waits of up to five hours and private care can cost two to three times what the average Tanzanian can afford. Its $1.2 million pre-seed round is intended to fund growth, product development and specialist services as the company expands from four clinics toward 10, while its first clinic had broken even within 12 months and served about 1,000 patients monthly.
