NOX Energy builds cloud software that connects household heat pumps, solar panels, batteries and electric cars to energy markets so energy suppliers and device manufacturers can automatically optimize them, lowering bills and helping balance the grid.
NOX is tackling the problem that growing wind and solar output makes electricity supply harder to balance, by coordinating heat pumps, solar, batteries and EVs as flexible demand without extra household hardware. The company says it has connected more than 10,000 devices and signed Eneco and Frank Energie, and the €3 million seed round is a bet on scaling that cloud-to-cloud infrastructure beyond Belgium and the Netherlands across Europe.
