PaperShell presses kraft paper and bio-based ingredients into strong, fossil-carbon-free components for companies that want to replace carbon-intensive materials such as plastic, aluminium and fibre composites.
PaperShell is tackling the emissions and fossil-resource problem in plastics, aluminium and fibre composites by turning kraft paper and bio-based inputs into load-bearing components that its site says can reduce CO2e by up to 98%. The company says its Tibro pilot plant has produced more than 150,000 components, while a fully oversubscribed 150 MSEK round and up to €40.3 million from the EU Innovation Fund are intended to scale a 23,000-tonne-per-year factory system.
