TrueLayer builds a Pay by Bank and open-banking network that lets merchants and fintechs accept payments, make payouts, onboard users and use bank data.
TrueLayer is targeting merchants' rising card fees and lack of payment choice with instant, bank-authenticated Pay by Bank, while its network reports more than 30 million consumers, 47% of Pay by Bank transactions and over $150B in annualised payment volume. The $27 million CDP Venture Capital-led investment is a bet on European-owned payment infrastructure that is already live in 22 countries and processing payments for major businesses.
